Andrew and Elizabeth Miller wedding photo 1884. Both were
German immigrants. She spoke Flemish. She was 17 he was 22, they hitched up in
Kansas and set out for Colorado to farm. Two years later they returned to
Kansas with two kids in tow. The next year Ruth’s grandfather Peter was born.
The other pictures are them sending their son Joe off to WWI. The last picture
is a bit blurry but taken in the late 30s. Andrew died in 1939, Lizzie a few
years later. I think they had grit and a sense of humor.
